Exploring Low-barrier, Gender-focused Approaches to Housing

This training explores drop-ins as alternative service models for women and gender diverse people at risk or experiencing homelessness.

Women and gender-diverse people who are multiply marginalized face unique barriers to accessing emergency shelter, housing and housing support. Low-barrier, gender-focused drop-in programs play an important role in meeting the basic needs of this population, and provide accessible and meaningful forms of support, social connection and community.

This training will explore low barrier, gender-focused drop-ins in order to identify housing and supports that are safe, accessible and appropriate for women and gender-diverse people.

The training will be of interest to individuals in community development, social services and housing and those working with women (cis and trans) and gender-diverse people (including non-binary and trans men).
