Rural and Remote Youth Homelessness in Canada – Towards A Unified Approach
Like adult homelessness, youth homelessness is still viewed as a largely urban issue resulting in few or ineffective rural resources to address the issue. Innovation and creativity are priorities for all communities but it is particularly important in rural and remote communities. Highlighting those solutions, so that we can increase capacity to support the unique issues faced by rural youth and their families in employment, health, mental health, housing and education, is a priority. With these emerging solutions in collaboration and practice in Canada, sharing them more broadly can help with our continued growth and alignment. Join A Way Home Canada as we feature colleagues from the Alberta Rural Development Network, Newfoundland’s Choices for Youth and Lanark County Cornerstone Landing as we work towards a unified approach to rural and remote youth homelessness in Canada.
