The goal of this toolkit is to support an understanding of how newcomer youth experience integration into their neighbourhoods and how community violence impacts them differently than youth who were born and raised in Canadian culture. This resource provides a breakdown of the newcomer youth experience, stressors that are specific to newcomer youth and how those stressors shape their experiences, and questions to consider when working with newcomeryouth. This toolkit does not aim to share a step-by-step process of how to work with newcomer youth, instead, it aims to raise key considerations to supplement an understanding of the newcomer youth experience.
