Indigenous-Led Housing Symposium – 2024 Facilitator’s Report

NiGiNan Housing Ventures and Grant MacEwan University organized a national gathering of Indigenous-led housing providers, bringing together 200 participants involved in housing initiatives. The three-day symposium occurred from May 28 to 30, 2024, at MacEwan University’s Robbins Learning Centre.

This report summarizes the outcomes of a structured facilitation process conducted on the final day, during which attendees engaged in a collaborative reflection on key insights from the event. The facilitated process, designed by NiGiNan and MacEwan organizers, aimed to:

1) identify Indigenous-led solutions to systemic failures, and

2) co-develop guiding principles to support these solutions.
