Housing First for Youth Program Model

This training is part 2 of a 3-part series on Housing First for Youth (HF4Y) for service providers in the housing and homeless-serving sector.

Housing First for Youth (HF4Y) training using the HF4Y Framework promotes housing stabilization, well-being and social inclusion for youth experiencing homelessness. HF4Y is based on the successful Housing First model and adapted for young people aged 13-24 to support them to exit homelessness and transition to adulthood.

Part 2 in the series, this training includes more in depth exploration of the HF4Y program model. The training  will prepare service providers to work effectively with youth experiencing homelessness using a youth-focused and individualized approach. Participants will learn about the range of accommodations and supports required for youth to obtain housing and sustain exits from homelessness. Through a variety of learning content including videos, case examples and online activities, the training will prepare participants to achieve positive outcomes for youth experiencing homelessness including: housing, education & employment, 

This training is part of a series on Housing First for Youth (HF4Y) for service providers. In the first training, Introduction to the HF4Y Program Model, participants gained understanding and awareness of youth homelessness, learned about the program model and philosophy and explored the guiding principles. The final training, HF4Y Service Delivery Model, provides guidance to operationalize the program model, including service design, staffing roles and responsibilities and case management approach.
